Fantastic, original condition top end vintage Peugeot. 21" size.
Identifying high-quality Peugeots from the 70s is always challenguing but this is most probably a 1978 PR60.
Anyway the spec speaks for itself:
-Reynolds 531 frame. Beautifully made, with nice lugs, and chromed front/rear forks ends.
- Leather Ideale saddle.
- Atax, Guidon Phillipe alloy stem and handlebars.
- Mafac brakes.
- Stronglight TS crankset.
- Lyotard pedals.
- Normandy Luxe Competition high flanged hubs laced to Rigida alloy rims.
- Full Simplex shifting.
- Maillard Course freewheel.
- Nervar bottom bracket.
Lovely original condition. As you can see it is a proper French machine… try to find a component not made in France! (apart from the Reynols tubing, of course). French threading.
Just serviced in our workshop including:
Whilst is great condition for age, this is a nearly 40 years old bike so there is some wear and tear related to age. Reynolds 531 sticker has seen better days. Some marks in frame. Please study pics thoroughly. Front brake is a bit noisy under heavy braking. Probalby they are the original MAFAC pads. They are hardly worn and they have been left in the bike to keep it original but new ones can be provided/fitted under no cost. Threads for the removal of right crank are a bit weak, looks like someone has tried to remove them with an standard crank extractor (remember, full French, Stronglight propietary cranks threads) but I was able to remove them with the right tool. Anyway bottom bracket has been just serviced so no need to remove the cranks for a long time. Ideale saddle missing a rivet in left side.
