CCM vintage Canadian city bike. 22" size.
Not your average vintage bike!
This beautiful CCM is a lovely Canadian bicycle which is quite a rara avis here in the UK. It was found by a neighbour of Queensway in the cellar and was gathering dust for many years! Probably was brought from Canada in the 80s or 90s, and has not covered many miles as it has been sitting most of the time.
It has a nice green metallic colour with matching mudguards and chainguard. The chainguard is particularly stylish and quite different from British bikes. It has plenty of shinny chrome that adds to the charming retro looks. It looks beautiful and it is a great conversation starter in the shop as these are not normally seen in England =)
Mechanically it has caliper brakes, a reliable Sturmey Archer hub (3 speed internal) , chromed rims, etc.
It is a fun bike to ride, very comfortable. Ideal for stylish leisure rides around the park, running some errands in the neighbourhood or short commuting.
It is not made for speed, so it is heavy and cycling position is relaxed rather than aerodynamic. So if your plan is beating speed records, long distance rides or extensive commuting this beauty is probably not for you.
Fully serviced in the workshop including:
- New bearings in headset.
- New bearings in bottom bracket.
- New cables all round
- New tyres
- New cable outers
- New brake pads
- New bearings in front hub.
- Sturmey Archer hub lubricated.
Cosmetically looks fantastic as you can see in pictures, but please note that as most of our bikes, it is a truly vintage bike in mostly original condition so there are some blemishes. Stains in paint, a few rust patches, marks, scratches, etc. It is part of the vintage charm.
If you love the looks but want to update it a bit mechanically, we are open to upgrades. If we were to suggest a few, we would say swapping the rims for aluminium ones (for better braking in the wet) and modern dual pivot brakes to bring stopping distance to modern standards.
Overall, a truly beautiful bike from Canada, really hard to find in the UK, pretty charming and comfortable, and in very good mechanic and cosmetic condition.
