Hercules Jeep (small)
Hercules Jeep c. 1970.
Beautiful example of small British tourist bike. The Jeep was a popular kids model within the Hercules range and feaured in their catalogue for decades.
This is the flamboyant red and gold version. It is a very cute bike, like a full traditional roadster but in a 25% reduced scale. 24" wheels and shorter cranks. Ideal for big kids or small adults, around 5ft tall. Please note that if you are over 5 2" this bike will be probably too small.
Simple and very solid bike, with a single speed setup, cotter cranks, chromed rims. Made to last a lifetime without much maintenance.
It is in pretty much original condition, and fully working.
Whilst in great state of conservation for a 50 years old bike, there are the typical marks, the odd rust spot, etc of a vintage bike this age. Nothing major. Please check pictures for cosmetic condition.
The little Jeep is very fun to ride, and really smooth. Cycling position can feel different to modern standards due to the typical geometry of the era, but after a few miles the rider gets quickly used to it.
Would be ideal as a first retro bike for a little one or for a not-that-tall adult looking for for an stylish bicycle.
Perfect for short commutes or relaxed leisure rides.
